Unfortunately, society in general has become quite ignorant and is extremely happy to be so. Look at our pop culture, TV, radio, even cartoons.... Disney's Robin Hood has quite an extensive vocabulary. Now we have Chicken Little... a very funny movie, but you don't even have to speak english at all to watch it, it's mostly sight gags.
Just last week my hubby made a similar comment about how pervasive the ignorance level is here in the states and one of our employees took offense to him calling his children "stupid". First of all, ignorance and stupidity are two very different things... and second of all, no one said his kids were stupid.
Just a "case in point" example of pervasive ignorance.

basically because the people most likely to use yahoo answers are the ones who didn't think to use google, wikipedia, or some
other information resource. Yahoo questions is the lazy persons
easy way to get a question answered.
This is why i have taken it upon myself to start asking higher order questions which are worthy of the medium. By all means,
check out some of my questions. Not all of the questions here
are lowest common denominator.

I probably shouldn't be telling you this as it will endanger my life ... but you child has taken over the Spinx and now controls the Internet and all information - transactions within ... you're child is not pleased with your complaints, but being your the Mommy, you are entitled to multiple methods of teaching ... however, should I try to correct your child (who's enslaved us all) then I would be servery reprimanded ...
Ooops I ment to say: dos isss elp you 411 the process???

Sorry, what country is that? There are people on here from all over the world.
I agree with you. Sadly, today's generation has no regard for proper spelling or grammar. Internet slang is taking over the world!

Because, quite obviously, you are reading the wrong questions, think outside the box.

Unfortunately it seems that you are correct. Perhaps this wonderful tool has been lost to those whom have no true clue how to utilize it best.

It is usually the unintelligent people who know nothing that open their mouths first...sad, but true.
