Vince McMahon did what he thought he had to do to avoid the embarrassment of the belt being taken by Hart to WCW. In retrospect he didn't have to do that and ended up looking like a real jerk, and I don't respect Vince much, but it's been nearly ten years so what's done is done.

vince mcmahon did what he had to do for his image and his company. like he said "bret hart screwed bret hart" if he would have stuck to the original plan and lost, he would be in a much happier place. look at everyone else, HBK moved on, Vince moved on, but Bret hasn't. that's why he looks so old and tired now, after all those years of built up hatred. that may also be why he had a stroke

Bret was a wonderful wrestler but he was about to do something that had never been done and could not be allowed to happen. I'm sorry but I'm old school and taking the belt with him is just NOT done. Vince was left with very little choice in my opinion

Bret Hart had a great career and should be in Hall Of Fame! He is a tough sob just ask Shawn Michaels or Roddy Piper!
