I was watching the bees in my yard today. There are different kinds of bees. Do they all make honey?

Nope, not all types of bees make honey! The eastern carpenter bee, alfalfa leafcutter bee, orchard mason bee, and the hornfaced bee are solitary bees, which means they don't live in hives with thousands of other bees. Each solitary bee is fertile, unlike the bees in hives in which only the queen bee and produce more bees. These types of bees don't produce honey or beeswax.

Hope this helps! I'm glad you're curious about these types of things.
