You have to pump! If you aren't by a pump...I learned this trick at NY Hospital. Take cabbage leaves and put them in the freezer....after they are very chilled/frozen place them around your breasts and this will ease the pain.... Also when you take a shower...do not face the water stream... You can also massage out any painful/lump areas..but pumping is the best. GOOD LUCK.

There have been many excellent answers.
Hopefully your baby is only away for the night
(I can't imagine leaving a nursing baby?!)
If you will be continuing to nurse the baby when it comes home, you must express the breast milk. If you do not continue to release the milk from your breast, your supply will decrease.
Just think of it as supply and demand!
When my breasts would become overfull, a warm shower always helped with the let-down reflex.
While in the shower you could massage and manually 'milk' your breast. Of course you couldn't save the milk if you do it this way.
If it were me and Mom was not far- I would go for a little visit ;)

As stated above, breast pump will help. Pump when you breast are full. Many types of pumps available. My wife didn't like the manual pumps because its a bit cumbersome. The electric ones I think are easier to use.
Please remember if you don't pump and do nothing, your milk supply will potential stop. If you plan to keep breastfeeding, you will need to pump you milk regularly.
Hope this helps.

you can get a breast pump andtake the milk out and freeze it until the baby comes back home. you can also take a warm shower and that will take some of the pain away.
