I'm sorry to hear this. I live in NYC and I think most people here realize race and ethnicity are not a reason to judge somebody. Racism is an old festering wound that I'm sorry to say will never heal, ever, ever, ever, just like war. I think you just need to find your way out of the country area as soon as you can. Go to school, finish college, hopefully people are respectful in college because people are there to learn to get a career and their paying good money. Once you have a career set for yourself, find a better place to live wher people are more respectful of each other. If you have a yearning to live with all hispanic don't feel any shame about that. Although I hear even racism occurs with hispanic people from different countries. You sound like an sweet, intelligent young lady with something wonderful to share with people. You don't deserve to live with people like that. Let them live amongst themselves. Don't stay their your whole life because your outnumbered and I don't think their opinon will change about you and then you will just become bitter after awhile and good personality you have will become bitter and angry. You don't want to become a person like that. Work hard in school, work a couple of jobs if you must to pay for school and GET AWAY from that place.

I personally blame Religion. Religion has standards, and because of those standards it outcasts a lot of people who don't fill those standards. Let's use the example with Homosexuals.. The Bible doesn't portray Homosexuals as "real" people and says that they are "the work of Satan". Should we really outcast people who are our brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends just because a book that as written by Man - not God himself, says we should?
A long time ago, people in the South had their own version of the Bible. In their Bible it says that people with a "mark" should be enslaved and captivated. When the Africans came over to America the "Free Land" they were enslaved by the Southern people because they saw the darker skin as "the mark" and thats why the population of KKK, and racists was directed more towards the South.
Don't listen to them, you shouldn't be judged by your background, skin color, preference whatever. You're a Human being and there will always be pleanty of smart, and open people who will love you and accept you for you. IGNORE THOSE LOSERS! YOUR A WINNER!

I used to be in the same place as you i hated to go to school. i hated to go play out side, didnt have friends cause they were all racists. I know how you feel. Till i moved. My grandma is and i hate it, my b/f and his mom is and i hate it i tell them stuff cause of it. But you can change a person once there like that i wish . it would take a strong person to do that. But to answer ur question. Its hard to give advice not knowing how they are makeing fun of you. Do you have any brothers or sisters? Do they do that during school? What do your parents say about this. If u have the guts tell them somthing and see if they say something to you. There should be someone around there that will not see you cause of ur race. I am white, and i live all around hispanics, my b/fs family is all hispanics, and when they have parties, i feel so uncomptabel cause they dont like "white people", but they deal with it and all i do is find someoen to talk to like his sister or his nesses or nefues or cousins, sometimes they tell them to stop playing with me. But i dont know, if i were you this is what i did, i todl them stuff. well it made them mad and she told her mom and i got introuble. So then i told my dad about it and my dad when to her parents and told the kid stuff cause of her being that way to me and she got introuble and the next couple of days me and her were getting to know each other and now we are still the bestest friends in the wrold. lol its funny how it all starts out to be like huh? Good luck.! hope i can help.

I'm sorry, but it is a miscommunication of what God really wants and Now it fell into are schema of life. God one time separated all man. He told Abraham to not mix with the Canaanite. The tower a babel was a separation of language and race. And back then it was needed. Today we are smarter and have evolved, yet some still believe that they remain better and that God makes every one different. I'm sorry for the crap you go through. If I were there I would respect you.

Sorry about that. Most people are racist because they were raised like that. It's still no excuse. Just try to ignore them. Karma always has a way of coming back to bite bad spiteful hurtful people in the ***.
P.S. I looked at your 360 page and you are beautiful.

Some people tend to fear what they don't understand or whats different than the "norm" and racism becomes a defense mechanism. I would also blame it on this recent government hype about border patrol and illegal immigrants im not saying you are one.but just like black people Hispanics get stereotyped.

You may want to honestly examine how you are coming across to people. If you know in your heart that you are treating everyone you meet with kindness and respect (and a friendly smile) then you can be certain it is their problem.
Racist behavior resembles fear to me. Fear of the unknown, or of anything different from what they are. It is very small minded and you should view it that way (their loss, not yours).

Racism is collectively learned. There is no sens in it general, but if a person has learned in life from the news and neighborhood`s experience, that for example "blue" coloured people steal, rape, robb and behave badly more often than the "greens" do, there you have it. If the same pattern happens again, and again in person "yellow`s " life`s surroundings, it would be extremely difficult for "yellow" person to thrust or learn to like the "blue" ones.

I think it's there own ignorance and also there own fear. When a person feels like they don't know how to treat another person because of culture or whatever have you. then it is easier to have hatred towards that person. So, they won't seem so ignorant
