Are you a night owl? I am and I'd be good for such a position.
You also would spend less time with family and friends

I love my night shift job because I have always liked being up at night and sleep all day. I have no problem sleeping in daylight.
I pull the shade down and either run a fan or tune my radio to a
dead channel to produce white noise to fill the room,
that eliminates most daytime noises. The exceptions are if there
is some construction going on nearby, but that is only temporary.
By working 4 nights a week I have a 3 day weekend to conduct
all my business. The only disadvantage would be seeking a love interest who works the same or a close schedule as you so you
can see each other, unless they are unemployed.

Well, Nitin, there are two different night shifts: the "PM shift" is evenings, about 1600-2400 hours (police time). Then there's the "Graveyard", or midnight- 8 a.m. shift.
As advantages, you save money because your time to party or date is limited. Aalso, you get to run errands and shop during the day, when most businesses are open.
As a disadvantage, it is not so natural for the body, and getting enough sleep is a big problem.
The evening shift, 4 to midnight, is about the best. You get to go out after work, sleep late, and you don't need an alarm clock. The day shift takes forces you to wake up early, takes the best part of the day, and leaves you pooped in the evening.
Also, if you like exercise and getting sunshine, a day job robs you of the best time to do those things.

Second shift bonus is the only advantage. Disadvantages are you can't spend time with your family. You cannot attend evening functions. You sleep most of the day and start all over again. It also cuts into you're Saturday mornings. Might be hard to make doctor appts. Third shift if you have the option would be much better then second shift.

The advantage at my job was better pay for the night shift. The disadvantage was i always felt tired and groggy and never got to do anything in the evenings with my friends and family. Trust me the money was not worth it.

Advantages: Night Shift usually pays more, you can go to the bank when its open, you don't have to sleep with your wife, or get up to the baby who's screaming all night when she says 'its your turn darling' You can have a can of beer when you get home from work at 7am!!
Disadvantages: Its noisier during the day, when you are trying to sleep, its also light or even sunny and the bedroom is too bright, people mow or strim their lawn and wake you up, the dustbin men lcatter the bins about, dogs bark. you can't sleep anyway because of all this noise and your body clock is messed up too. You have your breakfast in the afternoon and your dinner during the night. You can't spend money when the shops are open!

a minimum of your company is calling workers which they want. In my pastime the employers desperate to alter our shift equipment without bothering to ask any worker no remember if or no longer they needed to alter or no longer, that's in certainty unlawful as this might impression well being and protection at place of work so they have been given into difficulty whilst record to the government, and that's in all probability why your company is calling you. in certainty the corporate has no longer purely a ethical duty yet a criminal requirement to tell and seek for advice from the staff until now introducing this variety of replace in shift rostering. That pronounced, i've got faith the reward of the 12 hour shift are nicely expounded by potential of the above answer by potential of Cimex, because it potential greater days off for the time of a working cycle. yet Cimex fails to grant the risks the disadvantage is you get much less day without work between ending one shift and commencing the subsequent one. So what this suggests in practice is once you're this variety of man or woman who needs 9 or 10 hours in mattress at a time, as some do, you might have little or no time to do the rest after your sleep standards have been happy, different than for having a rapid wash or bathe or tub grabbing a rapid breakfast and right now decrease back to place of work! So (as an occasion) little or no time to pass on Yahoo solutions in between your shifts. If even however you may get finished refreshment from 7 or much less hours on your mattress for the time of day as maximum can then i might experience you're lots greater effective off on 12 hour shifts and can vote subsequently.

Depends on the job. But the advantages would be that you have your entire day free to sleep (hehe), shop, make appointments, etc...
The major disadvantage of working the night shift is getting used it, and, again depending on the job, getting used to sparse or no contact with others.

advantages:
time to do errands during the day because you're not at work
you feel like you won't be missing much because people are sleeping while you're working
extra pay - night differential
disadvantages:
somehow it's still not normal to be sleeping during daylight and awake when it's dark, you somehow won't get as much quality sleep/rest as those on a normal daytime shift
it's only the start of the day for you when it's the end of the day for everyone else
