I've heard that women give sex to get love and men give love to get sex. The best of both is friends that love each other.

Love is Love and Sex is Sex, they are two separate things, and you can have one without the other. But, when you share both in a relationship, well that is something special. When youve experienced that you'll see things differently.

Animals have sex. We have the capacity to love. When you find that special someone, thats when sex becomes lovemaking when you share and want to love as much as be loved. Its a form of bonding which keeps you close, instead of just sex for the sake of sex. With someone you love it becomes much more, which is why it should be kept within the relationship and not taken outside. Thats when the bigger problems arise. Another issue.

The diplomatic term for sex is sex. If that is how you say it than you are very diplomatic. Love is the emotion, doesn't mean let's have sex or that you will have sex because you say the words I love you.

You assume that because sex exists, love can't also? Or are you referring to people who say they're in love so they can have sex? If so, do you assume that there aren't other people out there who might be interested in both?

Love and sex obviously aren't the same. One is a mental bonding, the other is physical. Some people are incapable of the mental bonding, but that doesn't mean the ability doesn't exist in others.

It can be, it very much depends on the time/place/person etc etc.

Like if Id been with someone for a long time (without sex) and he all of a sudden said he loved me and then wanted sex I would think it was just to get sex for sure.

At the end, I suppose sex is an easy way to make things ok. Having sex you're not really sure of is easier than actually discussing the end, however it is much more complicated if only one person feels this way.

Not its not. I can love someone (who isnt my family!!) and not want to have sex with them. You ever heard that sleeping next to someone can often be better than sex? Some men can often get the two confused though.

It may be the "diplomatic name for sex", but as others pointed out it's actually lust. Lust = a desire for sex and intimacy with another person.

You can love someone and not desire sex with them. For instance, I love my niece and my little brother, but I have absolutely no desire to have sex with either of them.

Well if thats the kind of relationship you find yourself in, you'll know damn sure that both of you are very shallow creatures. Love is all the little things, making the other person feel good and being there when they need it most.

In North American Culture, it seems to be turning into that - but I know a lot of people who truly LOVE someone and never (or very rarely) have sex with them.
