I think that the black smoke is to do with the dead spirits of each of the various characters pasts. I don't believe it is an experiement, i think they are in a parallel universe that is why all hte characters are all interlinked in the way that they are.

I dont have a clue but do know it better be good since aswell as the numbers theres also the fact that everyone in the plane all had a link to each other well before the crash. so may-be its more to do with fate/destiny etc, They are the chosen ones...

watched the first two episodes; watched the last episode of series one; gave up and now am so not bothered...they should have wrapped the whole thing up in one series and then done a spin off...it just comes across as though they are just out to keep you hanging on for viewing figures and that kinda sucks and this from a viewer of Eastenders....shh!!

I think that they all crashed on an unmarked island and this is all happening. I know that they arn't in pergatory because I read an aritcle with a Q and A with the director, and he said they weren't in pergatory.

well I think its got something to do with Walt. It could be just a dream of his. Do you remember in the first season there was a polar bear and Walt was reading a comic with that in it? I think its something definately to do with him
