It's not always 2 minutes (can be up to 5) and it's stoppage time to account for injuries, substitutions, etc. and to compensate for the fact that for some reason they don't know how to stop the clock in soccer.

Injury time. This is at the discretion of the ref. It is not necessarily 2 minutes. It can go up to 5. In the opinion of the Ref, if there was sufficient time wasted due to injury or other reasons, ( all those rolling around that you see ), the ref estimates time to be added on so that the team not wasting time is not penalized unnecessarily.

Stoppage time....to account for minutes lost during the regular play. It is not always 2 minutes..it depends on the time wasted during the match

Stoppage Time, since they dont stop the time when they werent playing during the two 45 min. halfs they had the time at the end.
