I read a book my Louis Lamore (sp?) that said there is a canyon in Idaho bigger than the Grand Canyon.

And I read "Desert Solitaire" (favorite book) stating there are 1 or 2 canyons near Moab, UT that are bigger than the Grand.

So I want to know if this is true & where the canyons are and what their names are.

It really depends on what your definition of "biggest" is, as a canyon can be "large" by its depth, length, or the total area of the canyon system.

The deepest canyon in the world, Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon, along the Brahmaputra in Tibet, China, is slightly longer than Grand Canyon, and is also regarded by many as be the world's largest canyon.

Hells Canyon is a canyon in Idaho, roughly 16 km (10 miles) across; not as dramatic as the Grand Canyon, which is 277 miles (446 km) long. However, the sense of depth there is tremendous.

Hope this helps!

I read somewhere long time ago that there are canyons at the bottom of the sea since the grand canyon was itself full of water once same would go if the oceans dried.

The Valles Marineris on Mars is definitely the biggest. It's where a massive lightning bolt struck the planet, scarring it.
