If a terrorist attack is successful, no one is doing there job , but if a terrorist attack is foiled, people doub't it ever existed.
I read this in the news:
"The possibility (of an attack) will always exists, you can't stop living," said Terrie Coles, 52, office manager for an engineering firm, as she headed inside the 110-story building. "I just hope and pray that people are doing their jobs to keep us safe," she added, but "I'm skeptical the plot even existed."

And these are probably the same people who bash Bush. They want someone to take care of them, but don't believe that these people are really doing that job.
You are right, there is something wrong here. I think the US has a bunch of people still in denial.
I was in England 20 odd years ago and just missed being killed in a terrorist attack. I know it exists and that as a country, we are lucky, I am not sure why or how, but many places in the world live in a constant state of apprehension due to terrorism. Look at Israel. Look at the airlines not too long ago, the number of hijackings.
Many people in this world suffer from cranial-rectal inversion. It is time that they realize that at anytime, there is a possibility of a terror threat and we do have people who protect us, it is their job and if we choose to believe it or not, we need them, the threat is real.
What bothers me is that these people were Americans terrorists. They are the worse kind, if you don't like it. GET OUT!
What happened to AMERICA, LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT!

Not even the strictest security methods can stop every attempt by determined terrorist organisations, some like the London bombing and New York prove this, Al Qaeda (for example), are not a new threat but a very well known one, as it was funded and trained by the U.S and U.K during the Afgan war in the 80`s.
Dozens of terrorist attacks are foiled worldwide every day!,and the public never even hear of them,it is usually high profile attacks, when someone, somewhere needs to answer some serious questions about security, that is when all the conspiracy theroies come about. It is after all not unknown for governments to sacrifice civilians to further political gains.Modern nations could be guilty of keeping the public in a constant state of fear (for one reason or another) just to keep them subdued and to prove the dominance of their government ("you can`t live safely without us").
Skepticsm in your government can be a good thing, dont trust everything they say, think and have your own opinion

The same thing that's been wrong since the beginning, power issues. In my opinion, we cannot put full responsibility on the Government for keeping us safe - we all should take precautions and be more aware of unusual activity, etc..
I'm certainly not going to change my life for any terrorists.

Reminds me of the "runaway bride" who ran away but everyone thought she was raped and killed someplace by some sicko killer. People were on TV crying they'd do anything to get her back. Then when it turned up she was a crazo and wasn't harmed in any way they hated her and wanted her to do hard time in prison. The public is very fickle.

About the only place left to hide from the very real threat of terrorist attacks is inside the comfort of our very own denial!!! I guess it must be a comfort thing-either that or a complete STUPID thing,eh!

I agree, the possibility will always exist;however, our govt doesn't need to go on a witch hunt.
