Excess cholesterol builds up in your blood veins and arteries and can cause a heart attack as it blocks the blood from getting through. If a person eats too much cholesterol or doesn't use all the cholesterol they consume (live a very sedentary lifestyle, etc) then it can be very bad for them. Cholesterol is good when consumed in moderate proportions.

- I have never heard of any of these, but I know that Cholesterol main function is to build and maintain cell membranes. What it does is makes the membrane's fluidity, or degree of viscosity.
- Cholesterol also plays a big role in brain synapses as well as in the immune system, including protecting against cancer.

When we overeat our body trie sto store teh excess food, by making more fat strage cells..those new cells need cholesterol, so the body ramps up cholesterol production, which is why overeating causes high cholesterol
