Most men don't use makeup. Does that make them superior to women?

It's all about money.

Women use makeup because society has conditioned us that we need to look a certain way...the media has glorified unnatural looking women and superskinny models. This puts immense pressure on those of who are just your normal, natural everyday looking women. Everywhere we look are these unnaturally glorified women. On TV, in magazines, online, in every movie.

The entertainment, fitness and cosmetics industries are HUGE factors in the economy and feed women's insecurities about themselves.

Plus, makeup is a fast fix, right? How do you fix an uneven complexion, slather some foundation on it? Are you pasty, plaster on some blusher. Want long lashes, there are all manner of mascaras to help you out. The list is ENDLESS.

The bottom-line answer is that women are brainwashed by the media and the cosmetics industries who get rich off of our insecurities, created BY these industries for that purpose.

Women prefer to enhance there appearance so they use makeup. Actually, in nature, it's the male that is more brightly colored, and the female lacks in appearance. This holds true for humans as well. NO, men are not SUPERIOR, just a little bit different, if you haven't noticed the differences.

Women have more sexual displays where men have more power displays. These displays are found in coloring and in muscular shape. It's natural intention is to attract a mate. Women, who have more sexual displays, do so for the purpose of attracting suitable males. The more she can attract the better her chances of selecting the mate she finds most capable of caring for a family.

Of course, in the human race sex has become a part of recreation and so it's not always about finding the best partner, rather it is about satisfying sexual desires.

Fashion (this really is a fashion question)

OK, When Men had the power in the 1500-1800's Men did wear make-up, wigs, and high heels. It was fashionable for men to strut around like peacocks displaying the glory they have to offer. The more ostentatious, the richer and more respected the man was.

Now, woman have been given the glory ... when men stopped caring about their appearance (trading in extravagance for the suit and hats) in the 1900's is when the woman found the power and prestige of enhancing their looks to enslave men.

For some strange reason, men let the control all go to the women ... men even found ways to readily market and place woman on higher pedestals than men received in earlier history (publishing and the printing machines helped this movement lead by men) ... Meanwhile, men decided to make it their personal goal to look as bad as possible, and give 100% power to the women.

"He who controls fashion controls the universe" (author unknown)

Well, I agree with the first answer. Some women feel that it enhances their beauty. Some women wear make-up, but not that much. Like me, I'll only wear mascara because I want to enhance my eyelashes and the way they look.

Another example would be Tyra Banks. Without make-up, she looks almost dead or un-lively.

Some women just wear it to show femininity. Make-up mostly represents women. So, that could also be a reason.

No. Not really. Some women think that they're ugly when that's not the case. Makeup can boost self confidence. Most women want to change something about themselves that they don't like- whether it be darker eyebrow, plumper lips, an even skin tone....Makeup helps you momentarily get rid of those imperfections...

NO IT DOSENT MAKE YOU SUPIROR TO US!!!! Women use makeup ffor a number of reasons... 1. To hide black heads and red spots. 2. To take the shine from natural oils off thier face. 3. Here is Az (alot of women dont know tihs so I am telling a secret to public) makeup exspecially foundation clogs your pores so dirt dosent get in and you dotn brake out with acne all over your face. Not only that makeup brings out the features in a womans face, her eyes her eyelashes and her lips making it more noticable (If done correctly) for men to see and want to kiss.

In addition to the other responses, some women may want to draw more attention to the face and detract attention from other body parts. Others may use it to "cover up" what they feel are bad skin, acne, blemishes, etc. Whatever the case, in my opinion, if someone's face looks like icing on a cake during regular activities, they've got on WWAAAAYYYYYY too much. Makeup is supposed to enhance/highlight what you have, not cover it up.

women as myself like to take showers everyday and smell good and look good this has been going on for sometime now and it is good. we believe in cleanliness and feeling good and looking our best.

mens views ----- if it aint broken why fix it?
womens views---- we believe anything or anyone can change for the better, do you not know women have been taking on the role of changing our men so they can become someone we can live with for the rest of our lives? that is if the mother did not do enough to make him into a gentlemen, then it is the partners responsibility to do this.

in your case it is obious your partner, "that's if you are ever lucky enought to find someone" has a lot of work ahead, best of luck to
him/her.

most men don't change their underwear everyday does that make them , let's say, less than perfect?

women believe in hygiene and feeling their best, and it dosen't hurt to put on make up every now and then to feel your best. that's what makes a woman, "superior.?"

No...it's just like with animals, usually one group will work to be more attractive to the other group...For example the peacock.

Women are (generally, and from a primordial perspective) attracted to men who will be able to protect them and bring them food.

Men are (generally, and from a primordial perspective) attracted to women who are healthy enough to produce children. Long legs are an expression of being old enough...Full hips are an expression of being capable of birthing. Big eyes can, theoretically, protect said children from predators while the men are off hunting...therefore, exaggerated eyes are attractive to men. Often a rosy color in our cheeks implies a healthy constitution, and is therefore considered attractive by men. Additionally, during sex, a woman's lips and cheeks are flushed with blood, making them both more red, so this attractive to men, as they theoretically see the woman as she would look during sex.

No it is not because they are ugly..Some women do not know how to take care of there skin.If you take care of your skin and hair there would be no need for make up..Make-Up is only to inhance the beauty you already have. And always remember this "Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder"where you may think somone is ugly,some-ne else may think they are beautiful. One man's/woman trash is another ones treasure..(smile)
