I would say yes...Practice always helps and it is a great form of exercise. I wouldn't try tap or ballet because they're not very practical but maybe swing or latin or ballroom dance. Have fun.

Dancing is excellent because it helps people find their center of balance. You learn how to stand up straight and walk correctly, rather than slouch forward and fall onto your feet, plop plop plop.
However, you have to find a GOOD school of dance to find this. Many dance schools, ESPECIALLY BALLROOM SCHOOLS, merely teach students steps. The result is the student learns nothing about his body, and stumbles clumsily around the dance floor while linking together useless step after useless step.
Do some research to find a good school and yes, your coordination will improve. :)

Dancing has more to do with your brain and total body than just your feet. I would start with basic beginners classes. Anything that gets you thinking about what your body should do and then doing it. Mirrors help too.

yeah. practice makes perfect. take the lessons but if you hate it stick to basketball. basketball gives coordination and if you're already doing somethijng you love, why take up something you hate?
but if you don't hate it I'd recommend ballet if you're feel extremely brave. but hip-hop or modern or jazz might be better. good luck!

Ballroom because it will give you balance and it's something you can always do - whether you're very young, in between or when you get old. It's fun, great exercise and will keep you disciplined and you will constantly want to learn more.

I was voted best dancer at my school my senior year and all i did was watch BET and MTV, plus i would watch movies like "Save the last dance" and "you got served". i think all you have to do see watch some good dancers and not be afraid to get out there.

You should try hip hop. It can really help you with quick balance, or ballet, which can help you with gracefulness and balance as well.
