Like all poker questions, the answer lies in the position you're playing in, the number or players, the type of players, and the type of poker game you're playing and the limit levels.

If you're playing no-limit and you're in early to mid position, it's a risky bet to call. If you're in small bling and no one's raised, go ahead and call the remainder of the bet or raise if you feel the table is very timid or you've been dominating for a while. Let the flop determine your next move.

If you're playing low-limit (1-2 or 2-4), then go ahead. It seems like these levels give you about as good a poker game as video poker, so go ahead and play with it.

Mid-limit (3-6 to 5-10), only play on the button or blinds if the pot hasn't been raised, fold immediately if you're under the gun and give it a good long thought if you're in mid position. These mid-limit games seem to invite some of the tighter more by-the-book players and you can get a serious according to Hoyle type poker game. Some casinos are exceptions, especially if you're sitting at a table filled with your Von Dutch wearing hipsters. MGM, Excalibur, and Luxor all have this wilder action, so your K-2os might be a play there. If you're at the Orleans or the Bellagio or the Horseshoe, you're in with locals or very good players so your K-2os is a bad start, to be sure.

If you're playing high limit (6-12 and up) then don't play unless you're in the big blind and no one's called. It may not even be worth the 1/2 blind call to see your cards not flop out the way you'd expect.

Again, know your table and who you're playing, and pay close attention all the time. If you're no-limit with 4-5 players, K-x (that's King-anything) could be considered a strong starting hand. Against 10 people at a limit table, not so much.

Of course, poker is a people game and some people have a superstition about certain cards. I won't play 8-8 in any situation, but I'll play 7-4os/s because I was born in 74 and my parents were born in 47. You'd be surprised how often it hits...however, if someone raises the pot, I'll still drop them if I feel the raising player is tight/aggressive and generally plays pocket pairs or A-K, A-Q, A-J, etc.

If it works for you, go with it. Poker is a bit of strategy and a good bit of luck, but you need confidence at the table and your image is equally important. If you feel confident with K-2os and you ACT confident with it, make it pay off for you!

Good luck!

Depends on the situation. What's your chip stack looking like? How are the other players playing? Aggressive or Passive? Do you have a good feeling or a hunch? How have the cards been falling for you so far? Where are you sitting in relation to the blinds?

Never had a Gran...Both were dead much before my arrival. But doing things with Mother always made me feel important and closer to her. I just liked to bask in her presence. Holding wool was much more pleasant task as we would chat endlessly while folding sheets or making beds took lesser time.

I suppose it would take an aggressive player to play that hand, Personally being on the safer side, I tend to wait for a bigger kicker.

It all depends on the chip count, who pays the blinds, and how your opponents are betting.

Generally, though, if it's not too expensive, at least stay to see the flop.
