I think that starting here is a good initiative. Now if your friends has some summer homework to do, maybe you can do it for them. Sell some of your old play station games on e-bay or in game-stop stores. If you really have a talent for something find a store that sell things related to your talent and offer yourself for a summer job. Last if you have a WOW account that worth something try selling it on the proper forums.

mow some lawns, collect pop or beer bottles, sell some old cloths, toys or whatever. Another thing you could do is make a deal with your parents to do some extra chores around the house for the next two weeks like dishes every night, laundry, sweeping/vaccuming, etc.. Also, babysitting can make some pretty good money too.

My 10 yr old daughter did some dog sitting for our neighbor's dog during a 2 week vacation and they paid her $50. :) There's a girl in our neighborhood who is 12 who mows lawns and she charges $20-25 depending on yard size. She does one yard an hour. So ya know she's making good money. :)

Yard work, washing dogs, washing cars, selling lemonade, (make a sign with your plight and people will feel sorry for you). Go to a crowded corner and sing and dance, put a can out and maybe people will stick money in it. Don't bath for a few days and go to the same corner and beg, and act really hungry.

You can work for someone you know who won't report you. I believe it's illegal to be working at your age. You're allowed to 5 hours/day, but you'll need consent.
