Can you give more details (textbooks, old books, recent books). It makes a difference whether you check the prices for used books on Amazon.com or bookfinder.com or a textbook site.
For rare books go to www.bookfinder.com. The site lets you search by author, title and even the publication date. Here's what they have: Over 100 million new, used, rare, out of print, and international books for sale. Lots of rare book dealers post their books for sale on this site. This helps you find what your books are worth.

Are they textbooks or regular books?

If they're regular books, then you could price them on Amazon or Ebay - see what they're going for. If they're textbooks, then go to textbookx.com. Also, sometimes private used book shop owners will pay more than amazon - but you have to call around and see what they'd pay.
