Yes. You will protect your skin from sun damage, skin cancer, and early wrinkles.
Keep in mind that if you apply right away in the morning you may have to use more later in the day if you are planning on being outside.
Don't use sunscreen products at night. Your skin heals/revives when you're sleeping and SPF will act as an irritant in this process.

I think it's a great idea, I do it myself. Find a good "face" sunscreen that won't be super oily, I use Nature's Gate Face and Body (find it in most health stores like jimbo's or trader joe's). If you're in the sun a lot just remember to reapply at some point.

There is nothing wrong with that. However, why don't you try using a lotion that has sunscreen in it? I think that sunscreen just by itself is kinda sticky so I wear when I go out jogging or to the beach, but for day to day I just don't like the thickness of it on my skin.

I have heard that it is actually recommended to put it on everyday...but I never wear it anyday. It smells and is greasy and disgusting and I hate it with a passion. But If you don't mind I would totally suggest you to put it on daily.

Yeah, it is. In fact many dermatologists recommend that you apply sunscreen to your face every day, no matter if it is cloudy or sunny.

That's what you're supposed to do anyway. Any dermatologist will tell you to wear some kind of sunscreen every day.
