Is there a way to temporarily disable your yahoo messenger so the windows dont appear if there not wanted at a certain time?Example if someone else is on my computer and i dont want one of my friends to suddenly appear because they think its me online,when its not me its someone else.

uncheck "auto log in"
and "remember password"
so that it won't automatically log-in you in when the PC is started and it won't even remeber you password
Another way, is to stop the Yahoo! messenger from starting immediately you start your system unless you start it up yourself. Just go to "Messenger" >>> "Preference" >>> "General" >>> uncheck "Automatically start Yahoo! Messenger....."

change how you log in so that you sign in as invisible to everyone and when your other friends are on your computer 9 times out 10 no one will bug them and when its you on your computer just change you status to available.

sign in under invisable mode. You wont appear online to anyone and they probley wont take the time to IM you if your not online when they can just email you.
