What is a good use for empty plastic water bottles, the kind we buy in a 24 pack with 8 oz. of drinking water in? Isn't there some useful ideal for them instead of sending them to the garbage?

Recycle, if recycling is not in your area, then do not purchase the individual water bottles

Get a trash can from Home Depot, line it with a garbage bag, cut a hole in the lid, and recycle them. Recycling is your best bet man.

Well I keep a few fill them with water and freeze them. I use them in my dog's water bowl, and if I need ice for a cooler or something they do come in handy.

Fill them with water and they make nice hand weights. You can travel with them too. Just empty them out.
