There has never been a successful uterine transplant. I'm sure in the future, they will figure something out. I would like to say yes because I have a friend who was born without a uterus. I would love to be able to help her with having children.

Right now, for any transplant you have to be on so many drugs to keep you from rejecting the organ(s) that to do a uterus transplant so a woman can have a baby is not a wise choice. Most of those medications can cause birth defects.

My sis in law had a kidney/pancreas transplant and was told that if she got pregnant, they would have to tailor her drugs so they didn't hurt the baby, but then there would be a greater chance of rejection.

Until science can come up with a way to keep people from rejecting transplants without the drugs, it's unsafe to do this kind of transplant.
