A friend from holland assured me Soccer players are tougher because they don't wear pads. This doesn't take into account the fact that NFL players get hit by 250 pound linebackers and get up and ready for the next play, while soccer players fall to the ground writhing in agonizing pain if an opposing players jersey brushes against them. What do you think???

American Football Players. They wear pads because 300 pound guys are coming at them full speed and they are aloud to have contact. There are no yellow cards. Just look at them most Football (soccer) players are petite that is why the best players tend to come from countries with little people. Very rarely do you see a person 5'8 on the football field. Women do not play american football in grade school.

NFL players are bred to play and die soon after they can't compete anymore. FIFA soccer players are in the best shape of their lives and are physically and mentally capable of taking flips, headers, kicks, trips, punches, elbows, shoves, and falls. Don't get me wrong though, NFL players are all trucks. They can bulldoze over most people, however, they aren't that mobile and bred for a specific position while a FIFA soccer player is expected to be able to play any position.
To answer your question about FIFA players rolling on the ground on the ground and whining, I have to tell that they are doing that because they are sneakly trying to draw fouls not because they are hurt. Its a puss way to draw fouls but is very effective.
If its a question of toughness, I think soccer players win hands down because they are expected to play longer and continuously while Football players get breaks every minute or so.
I have nothing againgst football, but I agree with your friend FIFA players are more tough than football players.

NFL players must be a lot tougher. I know that FIFA players don't wear pads, but they don't get hit very often. NFL players face pounding impacts with almost every play. FIFA players are just being the babies that a world recognized sport produces.

FIFA soccer players, football players have so much equipment and no what you claimed that soccer players do they don't. you get hit in the shin or in the back of the leg by cleet spikes coming from a slide tackle and then come back and say they are weak for being in pain
(this is coming from someone btw who got hit in the right knee and had to have surgery, i can never play again now)

FIFA players have to be like pure bred horses to be able to run around for 1 1/2 hours straight. football players get a more frequent rest than soccer players do

i think it depends on the opponet of the FIFA soccer players. yes NFL players get smacked around by huge linebackers thus the rule of only being able to play like every 6ish days is inforced (even in the high school level) but soccer players tend to play through more injuries than NFL players (even after the soccer guys finally stop rolling around...what is up with that anyways??).

so soccer players are tougher but NFL players get more beat up

I think they do the most amount of running and go through the most physical challenges. Football players do a lot of running too, but not all players run that much and they don't do it for the entire game, except for a few players. Most players on a soccer team run for the majority of the game. It takes toughness to do that.

Well this is what happens when you get hit on the knee's or just your legs while your running it hurts like a *****. Players from the NFL have all that stuff, what would happend if the NFL players played real football? :) or Rugby without any pads or protection?

ok first of all. as much as i love soccer. you cant really compare it to football. i've played soccer like forver and im a girl but football is just like whoa. every year at our school some crazy manly girl always trys to be in the football team but it never works because football is tooo tough and too barbaric and soccer is for both guys and girls but football is just for guys so i would definatly say that FOOTball is tougher

it depends on how you define tough. Yes NFL players get hit by 250 lb linebackers and then get back up. they also get to rest every 10 minutes or so where as in football (or soccer...i grew up in europe so....) they play both ways for 90 minutes with one 15 min break in the middle and they get pounded on and takled for most of the game where they get their legs taken out from under them. and football players who fall to the ground writhing in pain aren't actually in pain. they are trying to draw a foul so that their team will get the ball a)back, b)get an opposing star thrown out of the game, or c)give their own team a chance to get tinto position either offensively or defensivly.

If you really want to know how tough anyone is from either sport, try playing both sports and then decide for yourself.
