It's a psychological play. The goalies think the goal is very big while the shooter thinks its a tiny goal. If you are confident in yourself the shooter should be able to make it. the shooter has much better odds of making it than the goalie has of stopping it. I myself am a goalie and know that feeling. and yes mexico does miss penalties, look at Omar Bravo- he was very nervous

Nice question Juventina. You wouldn't be much of a fan if you didn't. Be honest about the player sure, but of course I would forgive the players I follow. It's the non fans that are less than forgiving. We don't walk in their shoes or have their pressures. Baggio did far more for Italy and the game of football that warrants remembering than an incident that could happen to anyone. Same for Trez in the WC Final. It happens and it is not intentional on their part and the disappointment and guilt they carry themselves is punishment enough. Oh sorry, I didn't give an example because although I may be disappointed for them, I'm not disappointed in them and I see a difference.

The best way to find out is to ask them, the ones who miss them. Well, it can happen to anyone. Its the lack of confidence and the nerves. They need to practice that. Especially Omar Bravo since he's the one that missed that penalty. Wish them luck against Argentina!:-$

Mexicans have always had that problem, some people in Mexico actually say that the "Migra" officers make illegals throw penalty shots to differentiate between mexicans and other latino immigrants. If they miss the shot it's surely a mexican!

You practice , practice , practice to put the ball in the gray area zone with power or technique, you miss when you change your spot on the last second that it is very bad to do that.i learn the hard way in a full stadium. there is a 99.9% for the player taken the shot to score, if you don't give yourself away on approaching the ball

i dont know, they shouldnt cuz the ball is small compared to the goal and the goalie is to so if they were chosen to kick the penalty its for a reason isnt it? But that sux that Omar Bravo missed it, the last game

Because is very hard moment, i think there is a lot of pressure there isn't the same score in a practice that score in a game.
