I think he's happy, but not just because of the money. He seems to be happily married, he donates TONS to charity, he is successful in his work, and he will retire soon...wouldn't you be happy?

I think he is happy since he seems to GIVE so much.

Time for causes,
Money for charities,
Knowledge for growth...

Miserable people don't give.

After the founder of Wal-Mart, Sam Walton, died, his family caused a radical shift in policies all over the company. The shift to greed is revealed in the new movie "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Prices" -- just Google it. The Walton family, all billionaires like Mr. Gates, now donates a laughably low percentage of their profit to charity, and trust me, it's just for show. It's scary-- just watch the movie...

The reason I bring that up, is that every time I see Bill Gates and his wife in interviews, they just seem so relaxed and accessible, not afraid of what they are. They seem to want to help. They don't seem impressed with themselves for doing so. All the happy people who I know who support causes other than their own seem genuinely happy doing so...

As a note, you will not see the Walton family on TV promoting anything they have done-- because it's underhanded and cruel...

I hope you get to meet Bill in person some day--
Good Luck!

Money is a way of storing power, and this man has a lot of it. With all thing its in how you do it, the highter you are the father you will fall but also and my be more inporent is the higher you are the harder it is to get higher. Living a lavish life stile is nice untell it gets boring cuz your traped and you can't get any higher. You would need to go throw a hole buch of pane, or get lower to feel any thing. We are all addicts of trying to fined something new, if only we could keep uping the anty forever. So when you ask the quesion is he happy I say, Hell Yes!

If having more money than you could passably need, then i guess he is exuberantly happy. One thing I give Bill credit for is he is planning to give most of his money away. He has donated millions to charities all over the world. I'd like to see him and other rich people donate more money to the people in this country, and not necessarily minorities. The average person is who they have to thank for their prosperity.

I believe Mr. Gates is happy, but it seems his happiness is in giving to others. He and Mrs. Gates have a foundation to disperse their charitable giving, which runs into millions of dollars. Yes, I do believe he is happy and is to be admired.
