k... Just shave with hair conditioner, believe it or not... and use a fresh blade as often as you can... NEVER a disposable, but a REAL one... and shave like every 2 or 3 days... I know you'll get the "5 o'clock shadow, but it will give your skin a rest. I always get good results this way.

ok, this works for me and i don't know about anyone else. but i shave there almost daily, but i don't use shave gel or soap, i use a DRY razor and do small patches at a time. This always works best for me. i feel that if i use any lubricants or moisturizers they don't get as close and don't work.

hair removal creams are safe as long as they don't go inside you, but they don't always work as well as just plain ol' shaving.
good luck.

I've never tried anything but shaving, but if you are absolutely against shaving, try something recommended for the bikini area.

I heard somewhere that putting Visine on the skin after you shave eliminates razor burn, too.

there is stuff you can use called bikini zone. I believe NAIR also makes stuff specifically for that area. You could try waxing....it stay smoother longer
