1953 according to this web site. Mac, your memory sucks. Chrysler's push button auto tranny was the Torqueflite, see link, a friend had a 61 Chevy Impala with a Turboglide, Ford's early automatic was FordOmatic, and all GM trannys from that era had shift levers.

I'm probably wrong on this, but I thought Dynaflow & Dynaflight were trademarks of Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth in the late '50's. GM & Cadillac had Powerglide & Turboglide. Ford's was Cruisamatic.
Believe it or not, I'm going by memory here. So I'm not 100% sure.
By the way, "Dynaflow" & "Dynaflight" had no shift lever. They had push buttons. And "Turboglides" were available in 1957 only & had just 2 forward gears.
