It's had bad press lately. I'm guessing you're young and he's protecting you. There is some very adult content on there. If you're under 18, then he is right.

Totally depends how old you are and what you did to make him decide you can't go on anymore. If you aren't 13 then you shouldn't be on their anyway because that's the age minimum. If you're over that then he could just be being protective and careful of you because there are SO MANY creeps out there on that thing, and it seems like every day you hear of another girl getting kidnapped or raped by some guy she met on there. Show your dad how responsible you are with the site, and if you're desperate, give him your password or at least set up a time once a week where he can check out your homepage and see who is posting what and pictures you have up, that way he can see that you're not doing anything dangerous.

Well if you live in his house, you should probably follow his rules. It's probably all the bad press Myspace has been getting
I'm frustrated with the bad publicity in Myspace. I feel that it is unwarranted, and that the same dangers lie in every chatroom no matter where its at.
You should discuss this with your Dad, maybe show him what you do on Myspace, and give him your screen name. Maybe you can even help him set up his own Myspace, and make sure your his first new "Friend" (I bet he'd be honored). If he see's that you are responsible, he might change his mind, and let you on it.

Yes, your dad is right. Unless you're over 18 and pay your portion of the bills, you pretty much have to go by your dad's rules.

no he is just listening to some media and decides to follow random articles of random journalists. Maybe he should look into it himself and see that it is not myspace that is dangerous. It is naive kids and sick adults that give it a bad rep. Any form of communication can turn out to give tragic results but we should not blame the means of communication and convience but rather the sick individuals who commit such crimes.

Guess what? Until you're 18, your parents are responsible for you so that means you have to abide by their rules. If your dad says NO, then no, you can't.

Fortunately for you he actually cares about you! Wow, what a concept in this day and age. Lets pretend for a second that he is totally wrong (one time only) respect him on this and it will pay off for you.
