Although "The Sun Also Rises" shows a therapeutic way to deal with a castrating, unsatisfying world, I keep coming back to Gatsby as describing what is really wrong with our country being dominated by worthless and illegitimate aristocrats. Inheritance must be abolished. However, Fitzgerald is too kind to Jay Gatsby, who has to be judged as being as worthless as the trivial, useless Daisy Buchanan. That is another revelation about our modern condition: we outnumber the aristocrats 100 to 1 and could easily get rid of them if we weren't self-hating fools worshipping worthless trash. But Fitzgerald himself was that way, so he missed the guilt of Gatsby for wasting his life.

I thought The Great Gatsby kind of portratey the whole american dream image better but I thought that The Sun Also Rises was a much better book. I also love anything of Hemingways so just the fact the Hemingway wrote it might be why I like it more.

I never really got into "The Great Gatsby" when I read it in high school. I always felt like it was a soap opera which I didn't like.

I love pretty much anything by Hemingway. Maybe this is because I am a male reader. Maybe this is because of the intense study of him I did in college. Either way he is my choice.

Hands down The Great Gatsby. To me it truly captures the wildness and decadence of the post WWI generation.

pink Floyd. Rick Wright placed out 2 solo albums and is working on a 0.33. Syd Barrett placed out 5. Gilmour did 3 and is working on yet another. Waters has 6 or maybe Nick Mason has 2 and wrote a e book. on an identical time as all of them did no longer leave, they did pass directly to have separate solo careers. edit: whats up sarah
