it throws off the available balance in your account, only for a few days, but I find it highly annoying...

yes, and what is even worse, that 10% is taken off the wait person's wages, and ususlly split between the owner and cooks.

Tell the server not to include a tip on your credit card.
If there is a certain number of people in your party, management sometimes automatically includes it.
Please read your receipt before you leave the cash tip.

First do not allow them to do it. Show them that you are tipping cash. Second if your avaiable balance can be a problem over that little of an amount. Something is out of kilter.

Menu's are required to state if tips automatically added in or not. check the fine print on the menu.

Dont leave cash

they won't charge your card unless you fill in the charge slip where it asks for the tip.
