Keep in mind that, although Speed Racer is a cartoon, I'm interested on who would be cast for the parts for Speed, Trixie, Racer X, etc.

Oh man, this would be a great idea... I love Speed Racer!
Speed Racer - Someone young, innocent looking. Elijah Wood comes to mind, but I'd probably go with more of an unknown or lesser-known actor.
For Trixie, I'd try and get Rachel Leigh Cook. I think she'd fit the part very well. If she wasn't available, maybe Kirsten Dunst or Elisha Cuthbert. Someone with spunk and sex appeal.
Racer X... Someone exotic. Maybe British or Italian. Again, it'd probably be an unknown or lesser-known actor.
For Pops I'd cast someone with a distinctive voice. Half the lines would be over the headset to Speed, so a good voice actor is important here. Maybe Larry the Cable Guy? Depends on what I wanted out of the movie, I suppose. If you want more serious, Keifer Sutherland or Dennis Quaid could also do well here.
