It can be a fancy place or a burger joint - don't care

Because there's so many, it's hard to choose just one GOOD burger joint in the area. A few of our all time favorites have been Barney's on 24th, Clown Alley in North Beach (on Columbus),Bill's in the Richmond (on Clement), Original Joe's out on Taylor serves up a great burger & of course, "Joe's Special" (non-burger).Taylors Refresher in the Ferry Building is good, but doesn't hold a candle to their original (and still my all time favorite) place in St. Helena.

If you're up for a road-trip outside of the City my suggestions would be Jeffery's on South B Street in San Mateo. To save gas and have a little 'venture, you can take the train from the City to Downtown San Mateo. Jeffery's is 1/2 block away from the train station.

Taylor's Refresher in St. Helena is definitely worth the drive! It's more than just a burger stand, it's an adventure and epicurean's delight! Everything from their great outdoor setting, to their fries, shakes, pork chops (yes, chops at a burger stand!),to Napa Valley wines (yes, they serve wine!).Best burger in the Napa Valley!
