Ok I sic myself up thinking im gona put a tampon in then I do it and I chicken out thinking im goin to hurt myself or it will sting or im putting it in wrong I know am so scared of putting one in but i want to go swimming again and im not spending my summer like this i always have long periods that last like 10 day with all heavy flows....so ya I need to lean how to put one in and tip any one?

Use a slim or light tampon, those are very skinny and might help you feel not so apprehensive about it. They also have belts you can use with certain pads while swimming, My friend used to use them during summer camp. Read the box instructions for the tampons. It really does go like that[it should have some kind of diagram]. If it begins to hurt stop. You can keep trying until it doesn't hurt. Don't try using them while not menstruating, it's too dry. During your period it will be much easier to insert.

The best advise that I ever got was ... relax. You're not going to be able to do it if you're all tense.
When you try to insert it, pretend like you're aiming for the top of your butt crack (I know, that sounds stupid, but it helps).
When you're first learning how, you're going to waste a lot of them, but it'll be well worth it! Good luck.

There are instructions in the box. Relax, try maybe putting one leg up maybe on the toilet seat. but it will never work if you are not relaxed.

all u have to do is relax, put it in at a 90 degree angle. dont get to tense ohterwise it wont go in. just stay relaxed
