You should be able to get at least 4 years out of them but it all depends on the water quality and size of your tank.
In a large enough tank, a goldfish can get up to 22inches in size!
Happy fishkeeping!

I don't know the life span of a goldfish, but it will live a long time as long as you take care of it right. Like keeping the aquarium clean with a good filter, keeping the water at the right temperature, and feeding it the right food, but not overfeeding it. Goldfish are pigs and will eat as much as you give them. You just need to give them a pinch of food a couple times a day. If you put too much food in and they can't eat it all, it will dirty up the tank. And they need light, but you only have to turn on the light in the evening because if you have it on all day and night, then algae starts to grow in the tank which is not good because it takes away their oxygen. I hope this info helps you.

Goldfish can have lifespans up to 20+ years if they are fed a varied diet and housed in exceptional water conditions. They need to be in tanks that are not overcrowded. They need sufficient swimming room and do best if they are kept with their own types.
The oldest living goldfish recorded was 43 years old.

Goldfish can live up to over 20 years but if you don't know how to take care of it properly it can die within a week. So the average for someone might be completely different then someone else.
