The wine country in Arizona is in a high desert area of Santa Cruz County. There is a band that runs from Elgin, through Sonoita, and ends around Patagonia. Sometimes this area is called the "Mountain Empire" and even resembles the Sonoma and Napa valleys of California.

Down near Tucson there is wine made in the Sonoita area. I picked up a couple of bottles last time we drove from Phoenix down to Nogales. Good wine - not great. Kind of dry for my tastes but may be perfect is you like dry, white wines.
