Social security doesn't need saving! That is a bunch of BS!

What does need to happen is for the politicians to keep their damn hands off of my money. They have been raiding the Social Security funds for years. If Bush can give the rich a big tax cut, I do not understand why the government can't pay back some of the money it has stolen from me without my authorization!

Never allow a republican congress or administration touch it for payment of the incredible debt they always bring on this country. It's a fact that republican administrations have piliged this very hard earned fund of it's resources forever and ever. Privitize Social Security? Privtize the key to the Social Security lock box and tell the republicans to get their debt mongering needs from the Abramofffs and Delays of the world, they are the greatest of theives...and by the way also republicans.
Thanks for the opportunity, The Quotidian.

1st - Stop raiding the trust fund to fund public debt
2nd - Invest a portion of the ssoc trust fund in things besides bonds
3rd - look at immigration and encourage more workers (educated and high paying) to move here (increase worker to retiree ratio)
3rd - Determine what benefits need to be limited
4th - Remove limits on savings in IRA, 401k or any other retirement account
5th - deal with reality that taxes may have to go up.

Why do so many people need to just throw out retarded answers? Sheesh-- some are funny tho

Its so easy;

1) Offer to let individuals take out $3,000 a year if they paid more then that into Social Security for their IRA and,

2) In return if they take the $3,000 into their IRA they sign off on 2% of their Social Security benefits.

Now take someone 40 years old and works for 20 more years. They can add $3,000 a year for 20 years into their IRA and when social security arrives they still get 60% of their benefit. And believe me that IRA will be worth far more then the 40% they lose out on.

Re-instate the estate tax which was just repealed by the Repuglicons yesterday. Use the money to save social security.

Also, we should institute a windfall tax for wealthy corporations who find themselves with a huge amount of unexpected profit (ahem - Exxon)

Stop spending so much money on failed libtard social programs and use that money to save Social Security.

Also, it would be great to stop allowing the nitwits in Congress to use Social Security money on other spending projects.

I would do just like the President want us to do. I'd like to choose where mine would be deposited, like in a mutual find, long term CD, even a savings or trust fund that I couldn't get to until I was 65..... I WANT THE FREEDOM TO CHOOSE!.... I firmly believe that I can take care of my own money just as well, or better than they can. And I darn sure wouldn't spend it on silly things, like studying the mating habits of frogs!

First make sure that the illegals that the congress will give amnesty to don't get it. Second stop the republicans from spending us into servitude to China. Third make sure that the trust fund is exactly that, don't let the moron politicians keep raiding it.

We never did try Al Gore's "lock box". You know, Al Gore invented lock boxes. He also invented being unelectable.
