Are gangs the product of social issues? Should we not be trying to put programs in place to prevent our youth from going down the wrong path.

We are trying; unfortunately most programs can't overcome numerous good beatings of oneself or entire family

Gang behavior is the result of the genes. We know that subconsciously, and thus choose to perpetuate gangs.

The logical solution is to execute all gang members, and any children that exhibit gang-type behavior (usually the offspring of gang members, even if the father is not around), thus eradicating the behavioral tendency from the human genetic code.

However, we choose to perpetuate the problem by distracting from the real root, and stating that the solution is prevention programs / education / family / religion / etcetera. What better way to perpetuate a problem than to work hard at a false solution?

In most gang-populated communities there ARE programs designed to keep kids out of gangs. Unfortunately, I believe this is a systemic problem brought about by low levels of education and a family/work realtionship that works against the kind of parenting priorities that prevent gang activity with youth: monitoring, emphasis on education and tighter control over youth activities and schedules (IMO, because single or married moms and dads both have to work to survive, leaving kids unattended). Gangs are also human nautre, be they some hardcore crip faction in South Central LA or a bunch of rich bitchy clique chicks six miles away in Bel Air...
