Depends on your area. If you are near any beaches or lakes a cookout would be fun where everyone signs up to bring a favorite grilled item. You could have a biking outing where everyone packs a lunch and bikes to a nearby location for part of the afternoon. Any singers in the group? Try a karaoke event. I live near the Mississippi River and a local restaurant offers boat cruises with dinner and drinks for a 2-hour event - we took clients out and had a great time. Otherwise try one of those companies that offer games for company picnics.

Depends on what age, interests, etc of your employees.
We went skeet shooting on a company outing. If younger, have a gaming party (like video games). Or paintballing, we did that once as well.

What about a concert, dinner and a stage production show, or if your co-workers would enjoy it a weekend camping trip that does not focus on work so they can bring their families.
