Do you mean she has little "buds" under her nipple area, as if she were developing? This is normal. Ive had 2 pediatricians for my 5 month old (we moved) and both said it was normal and that it lasts in female babies sometimes until her first birthday. It's hormones... some baby girls even have mini periods after they are born. My daughter still has the little buds on her breasts, that seem to have gotten a smidge bigger a month or so ago... she's 5 months old. It's normal... but feel free to mention it to your doctor... any concern you have is ALWAYS worth mentioning.

Make sure your pediatrician knows and watches the lump. As a child I had a lump on my right breast until I was 3yrs. I've had no problems since but I do make sure to check carefully knowing this. Make sure your daughter knows her history when old enough so she can keep a close eye on it herself.

When my daughter was born, she had the same thing. Our doctor said that all it is is the estrogin build up from when my wife was pregnant with her. It will go away soon.

when my daughter was born the doctor told me this could happen especially if you are breast feeding something to do with hormones but i would recommend you still talk to your doctor about it

lumps arent normal period.. wether or not its serious only a dr shoulds say so.. im sure hormones play a part in small children with breast that have bumps in them so its best to check with your dr he or she can tell if its in the glans.. better safe then sorry.. yahoo is not the place for medical purpose hun... be safe and check it out with someone who you trust to be a medical professional.. asking is never stupid . but stupidity to not..

babies don't have breast cancer. have you ever heard of that? i haven't. it could be nothing and it could be a little cyst. it's probably not a big deal. i don't think it's an emergency unless it hurts her when you put pressure on it. you still need to talk to you doctor and ask to bring her in so that he can look at her.

It could be nothing, but take her in to be checked, if it is serious catch it in time. Also when it comes to your kids, especially this small, you should always seek medical attention. Good luck!

It is definitely *not* normal. If your daughter were 4 1/2 *days* old, it might be okay, but that should have disappeared long ago. Please see your doctor.
