I took Pharmacology in Nursing school and PO is the abreviation for "By Mouth" (greek). Q means how often you take it by mouth. Unless otherwise specified by Q2, Q3, etc which means twice a day (BID) or three times a day (TID, thrice), it is accepted by all that Q stands on its own as the number 1, once a day. Hope this helps. get well soon.

It means by mouth every day. There should be a number with it telling you how many to take by mouth.
