The first steps have already been taken: human organs and stem cells have already been grown in the laboratory. New strides in genetics research such as identifying genes which cause disease are moving the scientific community ever closer to cloning a human. It would be interesting to see if a clone of a genetically mutated animal or human would exhibit the same symptoms as its duplicate. If not, what is the difference?

It's very possible, and it could happen at any given point... The technology is there, but the ethical territory is unchartered as of yet. There isn't any difference between the protocol involved in cloning a sheep versus cloning a human. I am not sure that there is a real need to clone humans, however. Science's mission is two-fold: a) it seeks to explain what is not already known and b) to fulfill the needs of humanity (ie: cure disease, save the environment, etc.) I don't know that human cloning can fall into either of these categories; although, as a scientist, I am personally intrigued by the idea.

It is possible. If it is possible to clone a sheep or a dog it is also possible to clone a human, it's just a matter of prefecting the techology a bit.
It is probably techologicaly possible now, what causes the delay is the moral issues that are involved - we are opening the door to something the consequeses of which we cannot yet imagine. Still, once the technology is there it is impossible to hold it off forever.

I bet they've already done it, it's just not legal, so they won't tell anyone they have. You do know that you can't clone an already existing entity? They clone the egg or what have you just after conception (in the case of the sheep and kitten)

It is definitely possible and may have already happened. I'd say it will be announced to have been acheived at least within the next ten years.
