I'll disagree with everyone.

It is true cars, industry, cows, etc., take together represent quite a significant pollutant pool. However, every small change we make helps some.

If the millions of people who smoke all quit at once, we would see
1) less pollution from the smoke;
2) no pollution from the companies making cigarettes (they would go out of business);
3) no pollution associated with transporting them to distributors and then to stores;
4) no pollution associated with driving to/from store to get them;
5) no pollution associated with driving to/from hospital for lung cancer treatment;
6) no pollution associated with heating/cooling outside smoking areas;

As you can see, the ramifications could be significant.

No, because the fumes coming out of the politicians heads would be far worse. Without the tobacco industry the government wouldn't know what to do, well I suppose they'd put higher taxes on something else.

Non smoker.

BEST ANSWER!! Considering the amount of carbon fuels it takes to produce and transport the tobaco products then if smokers were to give up, it would have a tremendous effect on reducing the greenhouse effect.

No! What are the effects of global warming? Seas will rise, Greenland melts, ground collapses, glaciers disappear, allergies get worse, lakes disappear, hurricanes get stronger, animals change behavor, animal DNA changes, rivers melt sooner in spring, and the list goes on. Global warming could change earth into a chilled planet( has to do with fresh and saltwater being combined together in hugn quanities). There is a cure, but it costs between $6 and $200 trillion, plus $500 million to put it into place (a ring shade around the earth).

That is the best question i've ever heard. My Mum is a smoker and i always tell her to quit. Think about it the world could be way too hot at polar places like Greenland and Iceland. and no more Ice in Antartica means rising sea and rising sea means no more earth. If you smoke quit immediantly so we will have less to worry about global warming.
