No. Most rental agencies require drivers to be 25. Either way, every driver has to be listed by name on the rental agreement or if they are in an accident you are NOT covered.

I am a general manager of a car rental company here in FL and your 17 year old cannot drive the vehicle. Some companies will allow 18 year olds but most in Florida are 21 and older and a majority charge an additional fee if they are under 25.

No the 17 year old cannot drive the vehiclke. When you ent the vehicle, they will ask you who will be driving their car. He must be on a list to be insured, and he must give them a copy of his drivers license. At this point the renter should inform you if he is eligible to drive the rented car or not. I believe he must be at least 21 to drive and have the insurance coverage. If he drives without knowledge to the renter and he has an accident, then insurance will not cover you or the vehicle and you will be held responsible for all bills. medical and repairs.

No, I believe you must be 18 to drive a rental car here in Florida. Also, they would charge you exorbitant amounts of money for someone under 25 to drive as well.

Absolutely not. He's not old enough to rent a car yet. You have to be 21 and there are only certain drivers allowed when you rent a car.

No, the driver has to be 25. If he or she gets into an accident while driving, you're looking at a crapload of fines.

Ask the car rental company as their policy may be more strict than the state law.
