Yes it is quite normal. In fact in my case I started feeling from 16 weeks. Some baby are early starter :)
May s/he will be watching lot of world cup with you and getting ready for action now itself. You should read Indian story about Arjun-Abhimanyu where Arjun told how to clear out of war circle (Chakraviu) however when he was explaining how to get out of it, his wife fall sleep so his son could listen that part and when it came to actual war he got killed while coming out :)

If you want to know when a baby first starts moving, it is around week 8, when a heartbeat is detected and arm and leg buds start to appear. There is movement then.
If you are asking when you feel real kicks, probably not for a few more months. They are happening, but you still have room in there, so the baby has a place to move around in and will take full advantage of the space.
If you are feeling the baby, chances are, you are feeling kicking or punching. That is the most movement that is felt. Take avdvantage of the fact that the movements are little now. Before long, you will want to go back to the little movements and not get kicked in any internal organs.
Around month 7 is when you will really start to notice movement and be able to feel all sorts of things.
Right now, you may feel hickups, and just not know what they are. If you feel consistant, rhythmic movement, that's probably hickups. My second baby had them from about 5 months on, usually the time I went to bed and was almost asleep, or about 2 hrs after I ate. She still gets them now.
Enjoy these little movements and start a journal about what you are feeling. It will be neat for you and the baby to go back later and read what was happening to you and them before they were born.

That is exactly right. At first the movements will be random with a spurt every once and a while, depending on the baby's position. As you progress, it usually gets pretty crazy about 28-34 weeks. As the baby runs out of room, you feel more uncomfortable kicks until birth.
I was able to get more activity from both my pregnancies when I ate something sweet like fruit, candy or even maple syrup!

I first started feeling movements when I was three months along. It wasn't full fledged kicking, but it felt like something was wriggling around in there. Every once in a while, she would push right up against my belly, to the point where I'd feel this hard little thing under my skin - kind of long and skinny. And that's just the way she was when she came out - tall and thin. The real kicking probably started around 5 mos or so.

The fetus actually begins to move at around 3 months. You just can't feel it at that point. Sometimes a women will feel like there are butterflies in her stomach. I've heard that's the baby moving. I am half way through my third month and I have felt that, but only a couple of times.

The baby starts kicking and moving long before you can feel it. I am now 16 weeks pregnant with our third and started to feel he/she kick at 14 weeks and 6 days. With our second it was about 16 weeks and with our first it was right at 20 weeks. The funny thing is that all three have had different 'quickening' sensations. The first felt like butterflies right below my bellybutton, the second felt like soft thumping three or so inches below my bellybutton, and this one feels like a whirling pressure on my bladder...not the loveliest of feelings;-) I think once you are about 25 weeks you should really be able to feel the baby moving and kicking quite often. God bless.

They start moving after only a few weeks, but most moms begin to feel them around the fourth month. I guess the first baby takes the longest to feel, the next baby you feel sooner because you know what it feels like and don't mistake it for gas or something. I felt my DD kicking at 15 weeks.

at 4 1/2 months i could feel mine every now and then. some faint some strong. but every woman is different. what one might have and be during pregnancy another might not i was pregnant at the same time as a bunch of my friends. i was having twins and they single. yet i was the smallest of all and bitchest. lol. so every pregnancy veries just sit back relaxe and enjoy ever move and kick you feel cuz before you know it will be over and you will be missing that special bond that you and only child could ever feel.
