If you want to feed them yourself use cornmeal. I used to go clamdigging a lot and if I didn't eat them right away, I kept them in a bucket of seawater and added some cornmeal. They eat the cornmeal and spit out the gritty sand they have in them. They will be more enjoyable to eat without the sand.
