Of course, you can't use it when your miles away. In fact turn off anything that uses electricity unless you really need it on like an alarm or something.

Yes, for two reasons:
One, they have found that appliances, computers, clocks, etc., all cause a drain that can add up. And since this is summer, electricity will be at a premium because of heat waves.
Two, sometimes things that are plugged in can catch fire. Not necessarily a computer, but a friend said he knew of a house fire caused by an answering machine. If you touch the plug box of your answering machine (as I did) you may find it is always very warm. I now see why a fire could happen.
When I go on vacation, I unplug just about everything, except the light that is on a timer, the refrig and my outside lights on timers.

Yes, to protect against power surges and lighning. Also unplug the phone line going in - that's how I lost my previous one.

Yes, even if you have a surge suppresor it is best to break all elitrical connection to you pc in the event of an unexpected surge while you are away. It is better to be safe than sorry.

it is a good decison to unplug ur computer when you go on vacation because it will noy make your electricity bill rase and if there is a storm and something hits your computer it will be destroyed and will not work any more!

yes b/c even if nothing was to happen you will probably be thinking about it in the back of your mind on your whole trip! so unplug it just to be safe and so you can enjoy your trip!

Why wouldn't you?
Your not going to be using it, right? so give the world a break and do your bit for reducing carbon emitions at the same time :) whilst your at it why not go the wholehog and turn off your TV etc too.....

its always safe to unplug the computer.Electrical shortcircuit may happen any time causin a huge damage.so its better!
