You may want to investigate the Council on Foreign Relations and the Bilderberg groups. These two elite organizations set policy not only for the US but for most of the industrialized world.
The Bilderberger's just met up in Ottowa Canada, and Hillary Clinton was even in attendance. Prior Bilderberg attendies include Bill Clinton and John Edwards.
