Go shopping together, and pick out one then the store can put it on hold until he's ready to buy it on his own. That's what I did and it was fun shopping together for it. It's very common.

yes, this is normal...in the same situation, i picked out three rings i really liked and my fiance had the final choice..that way we felt like it was a ring we both loved...congratulations on your engagement :)

It's totally OK but if you don't feel comfortable doing that just leave the catalog with circled styles somewhere he can see it so he gets the idea what you like just don't go crazy on his wallet. Good Luck

I picked mine out!! I am glad I did, too...I didn't want to have a huge gaudy ring so I picked out a nice little one
