ive had two divorces that werent quite ordinary. neither husbands wanted a divorce for their own reasons.
you deal with it one day at a time. state what you want out of the divorce and go on.
if you have a good lawyer, you should be able to get at least half of what you want. talk to the lawyer and go from there.
i will say that in most states, if its a custody issue, most judges will side with the mother on custody. the big thing is not to let the soon to be ex back you down from anything. my first ex tried to bully me into backing down and he got more child support tacked on because of it. the second kept telling the judge that he did not want a divorce because he wanted me back after being separated 5 years.
i have a daughter that was born while i was still married to the second one. he knew that she didnt belong to him and he still claimed her in the divorce. i finally did let him claim her because it had taken me 5 years just to get him into court to get the divorce. he thought that i would stop the divorce instead of letting him claim her.
ironic that now he is supposed to be paying me child support for a child that isnt his. wonder how he likes that.

Getting divorced is difficult. I took me almost 2 years to get mine finalized because of him contesting everything. I am not sure if I can help you through but if you need someone to talk to, I am here.

To have a support unit there for you is important. The trauma of a nasty divorce takes it's toll on everyone. Try to be strong and when you feel your backs against the wall. Stop, take a moment for yourself and push forward with dignity.
Good luck !!!

Getting divorced sux. Being divorced sux. Especially when his ego just won't let it go easy. Sorry, wish there were some magic phrase to make it feel better. It's a matter of gutting it out, and getting your life back.

It's alot easier when you have someone to talk too. I've been there I got married for the first time when I was 17. My ex beat me and my 6month old baby. I know it hurts. It just takes a lot of time and friends to get through it.
