A lot of restaurants will allow you to have fundraisers at their establishment and give you 5-10% of sales of the people you bring in (with fliers, etc.). I know that Baja Fresh and Pizza Hut do that, and people LOVE mexican food and pizza, so it's a good choice. Get everyone you know to go the night of the fundraiser and order a bunch of food!

My recommendation would be to find a project that you would enjoy doing. What is it that you have as a skill? What are you interested in?
Why would I recommend that? Because you will enjoy what it is that you do! And when you display passion and interest in supporting a cause, fundraising is easy. Others see your passion, your sincerity and then they are willing to support the cause you are raising the funds for.
I would also recommend researching any organizations that support Leukemia research. They too might have some "boxed" programs that are fundraisers, but also educational. Some of the links below have how you can help support Leukemia research as they look for a cure.
I hope this helps!

Since childhood leukemia is previlant, it may be fun to do a carnival type of fundraiser. You could have volunteers dress up like clowns, do face painting, has food booths, icecream, cotton candy, pony rides, etc. Advertising is key, get it out early enough and wide-spread too. Make sure your board members are highly involved; there at the carnival, promoting in the media, contacting people who are big contributers.
For adult leukemia, maybe a fun run type of activity. You have a race, people buy tickets to be in the race, you have donated prizes, and maybe a BBQ when the race is over to raise even more money from the crowd that is watching. Again, advertising is key.

i did a lot of fundraising in college with my sorority and here are a few ideas:
-hold a car wash
-have a benefit concert- worked great for me
-have a casino night
-walk-a-thon -especially for an illness
-there was a young girl who had cancer and unfortunately passed but had an idea for lemonade stands. she made hundreds of thousands by setting up stands and having people in other areas and states set them up. she was on oprah i think.

my husband does this all the time, he just gets on the phone. He calls huge orginizations to ask them for donations. He was able to get wal-mart to donate $300,000 to his fire department, and gatorade donated 10,000 pounds of bottles. You just have to ask around.
