I am not sure what I experienced earlier today, but I am 36 weeks pregnant and the first couple times I went to the bathroom before and after (not during) I had a burning sensation. Like I had to go more but didn't! And it would last a few minutes and go away. So I called the Doc for a urine test and it came back negative. But after I called for the appointment I really didn't get the feeling again. What could this have been if not a UTI? Did I over-react or could it be a sign of something else? Anyone have this similar experience???

well at 36 weeks..I would say your baby is sitting just about on top of your bladder....if the culture came back negative...it could be small 'microtears" causing the pain...everything in that general area is stretching on a daily basis...

Wooooh! Me too, girl! The doctor's office LOST my first urine culture. The pain started in my back (kidney/flank area) and that was my only symptom. Luckily (well, I don't know if you'd call it luck) I've had recurrent UTI's and I knew this one symptom could mean only one thing. INSIST upon your doctor giving you an antibiotic. Cipro works well and quickly but I am not a doctor, so I'm totally "just saying." Get something fast because after getting the run around from the doctor's office I now have severe pain from bladder contractions. Always looking at the "positive side:" I guess I'm better prepared for labor and delivery! Hope you're all better soon!

When I had a UTI when I was pregnant, I didn't have any symptoms from it, I had contractions and when it was treated my contractions went away. If the test was negative, maybe it's just because you have alot of pressure down there from the baby.

Symptoms describe what sounds like bladder spasms. From the pressure of baby on bladder.
